Softball Week 4

Wahoos 20
We Play All Positions 5

A resounding win for the Wahoos last night against We Play All Positions, 20-5 in 5 innings. The Wahoos' offensive onslaught was merciless, batting around in each of the first four innings. Nearly everyone had multiple hits. The story of the game was the aggressive baserunning as the Wahoos continually exploited the WPAP outfielders' decisions to ignore the cutoff and throw to the wrong bases. Dave Rose inspired the aggressive baserunning in his first at bat with a wide turn around second that drew a throw from the opposing third baseman that sailed into right field. In his second at bat, Rose rounded third base at the same instant the ball arrived at the base and a stunned 3B could not react in time to make a play at the plate. Later, Kisha Simmons followed Rose's lead and slid into third base under the tag, which sent him into a tirade directed at Alvin. Rose also deserves the game ball for three innings of shutout pitching in relief. Scott Dubord made his much anticipated return from paternity leave with his trademarked opposite field base hits.

Season record: 3-1
Next game: 8/1 vs. Brookhaven Ballers, 6:45
