Kickball Week 3

Fearing the prowess of Virginia Orange (clearly our reputation has preceded us), FSU chose to forfeit rather than face the big Orange machine.

That was a nailbiter. We started off strong getting two runs quickly and keeping the lead for most of the game, until the bottom of the 7th when they miraculously scored two runs to take it to extra innings. But with some crucial hitting in the 8th, we pulled out another solid win. MVP goes to Patrick for an outstanding pitching game and his top of the 8th bases-clearing 3-RKI triple to recapture the lead and pretty much seal our victory! Great defensive plays by Ben at shortstop and Katie M in the outfield. And Kelly for a clutch catch in the bottom of the 7th to take us into extra innings! Jansen made a beautiful tip pass to Clark for an out (this is a good strategy folks…if you don’t think you can catch the ball…give it a little push in the air like a set in volleyball…someone should be there to back you up). Thanks a bunch for the orange team for sticking around and supporting us, particularly for all the heckling of Skurky (justified or not). We will return the favor this weekend!
