Softball Week 5

Wahoos 12
Brookhaven Ballers 1 (who apparently were had been the only undefeated team left in the league - we sure took care of that!)

Offensive highlights - both Scott and Hans were just a home run away from hitting for the cycle (though an objective observer noted than the wind was blowing in for Hans' triple, preventing a potential home run); pretty much everyone getting base hits to produce high- scoring first and second innings to give us an early insurmountable lead

Defensive highlights - solid defense by Levy and Hans on the left side despite the slow, muddy infield (and lack of cleats for Levy) and Sizemore holding things down at first; Scott grabbing a neat fly ball to right center to open the game; Erin corralling a high foul pop behind the plate

Injury of the game, semi-self-inflicted version - on a relay throw from Sizemore to tag a greedy runner coming into second base, Katie made the tag and was promptly rewarded by having her glove propelled back into her face. Luckily, there was no bruising so we were able to keep our shiner-free games streak alive (I believe we're up to 9 - woohoo!)

Scott's parenting lesson of the week - never ever take away the baseball cap of a true Yankee fan, even if she is only three and you're a Red Sox fan. The tears are just not worth it.

Season record: 4-1
Next game: 8/7 vs. One Mo Round, 9:45
