Kickball Week 5

Orange played another solid defensive game with enough offense in the first inning to get us by. Some big blows were provided by Smitty (two doubles driving in at least 3 runs). Defensively, they tried their luck with Cary time and again, only to be denied each time. Also, Lee decided every time the ball came near him, he must end up on the ground in some fashion. Sometimes not the most elegant – but always effective. A very well played game at 1B!

Repeat of last week. Orange is the best….sucks to be Blue. yea yea yea.

Even though we lost, we had some great plays including a 2-run comeback in the bottom of the 7th (…before giving up a few runs in extra innings…maybe we shoulda accepted the tie!). Game MVP to Danielson for several sharp plays at 2nd base and a hit or two on offense. GJ, Laurie and Patrick also did a great job of getting on base and advancing runners at the end of the game. Substitute John had some amazing catches in the outfield. And thanks to Smitty for kicking, Thirza for providing the musical entertainment and a large majority of Orange for sticking around and supporting us (matt b – a little more heckling next time though please). Patrick will be hosting a mandatory Blue team kicking practice at 1130am this Saturday.
